Workplace Violence
Teachers as professionals have an obligation to report incidents which fit the criteria of a violent incident as defined by the Workplace Safety and Health Act. Manitoba's Workplace Safety and Health Act define workplace violence as follows:
“violence” means
(a) the attempted or actual exercise of physical force against a person; and
(b) any threatening statement or behaviour that gives a person reasonable cause to believe that physical force will be used against the person. (« violence »)
If you believe that an incident you have experienced fits the above definition it needs to be reported according to the school divisions policies and procedures.

Upon completion of the above reporting form please be sure to keep a copy for your own records. After submission. your supervisor should follow up with you regarding the outcome of your report within 10 working days.
